Data access and demonstration
- U.S. GLOBEC Georges Bank on-line digital data.
- Check Data Notes (last updated
January 9, 2001) for
time critical information about our on-line data.
- Read the Data
Acknowledgement Policy before using any of these data.
- The thesaurus contains definitions
of field names and instruments used in the program.
- You can search for data using a field
name search form. By specifying
the field names of
interest, e.g. find me all data with salinity (sal) and temperature
(temp), you will see a list of
clickable object links, providing access directly to the data.
- You can also search for data using the About
Utility. This utility searches the Inventory files, as well as
other relevant local files.

Dr. J. Bisagni, University of
Massachusetts, are available through the data system. Both
AVHRR and daily cloud-free, AVHRR-derived, optimally
interpolated (OI) SST images are available on-line.
AVHRR images of the CMO area can be found at
There are average images as well as separate images from the spacecraft.

On-line data files can be copied over the network by clicking
on the data file name of interest. Some files are in compressed
format and documentation about the file contents are avaible
from this same Web site. Additinal information is also available from the
Numerical Methods Lab home page

Shipboard ADCP Data: Shipboard ADCP data from all the GLOBEC
cruises to Georges Bank, plus a few from allied programs, are available
from the Brookhaven National Laboratory:

be easily extracted from the database using the website for specified
intervals and averaging criteria.
