Inter-annual Variation of Lagrangian Pathways in the Gulf of Maine: Importance and Causes

We analize the sources of along- and cross-isobath variations in Lagrangian pathways in the Gulf of Maine. Along-shore winds and Scotian Shelf inflow are found to be particularly important to variations at all depths, while cross-isobath pathways in the upper ocean are particularly sensitive to wind.
