Viewing and retrieving data from the US GLOBEC Georges Bank Data Management System: A Tutorial

The US GLOBEC Data Management System is based on the JGOFS/GLOBEC system initially deployed for the US JGOFS Program in the early 1990's. It is a distributed data system that provides access to data via the World Wide Web, using standard browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape. So far there are over 1000 data sets available from US GLOBEC data and information server http://globec.whoi.edu/, including data from all three US GLOBEC programs, Georges Bank, Northeast Peak, and Southern Ocean. This poster will highlight how to use the system to browse for data, retrieve data using retrieval criteria, and download data to your own computer.
