We proceeded on to mooring C1. However, although the acoustic release would respond and accept commands, it would not release. As the day was well advanced, it was decided not to rig over the dragging mode today. We then proceeded into Marguerite Bay towards SIO ARP mooring S7A. We were treated to quite a show of three humpbacks breaching and blowing bubbles enroute. We arrived at S7A and successfully recovered the package. We'll head back towards C1 and drag for it tomorrow. Regards, Owen Marine Projects Coordinator R/V LAURENCE M. GOULD email to: mpc@lmg.usap.gov
