We had planned to stop in the LeMaire Channel to re-set the DUSH 6 winch on it's pedestal, but encountered high winds there so continued on to Port Lockroy. Winds were high there as well, but we were able to lift the winch, inspect beneath it, then re-set it. We then welded some temporary eyes to the deck for securing points. We are now headed offshore to the SIO mooring S1A, with the hopes of recovering that mooring and re-deploying another. After that, we'll head back towards Palmer Station, with an ETA there on schedule of 2 March. Regards, Owen Marine Projects Coordinator R/V LAURENCE M. GOULD email to: mpc@lmg.usap.gov
