are being considered for the U.S.
GLOBEC Georges Bank program. This list will be updated as necessary.

Field Names
- airtemp = air temperature, in degrees C
- cast = cast number
- cruiseid = cruise identifier, e.g. en9402 R/V Endeavor cruise 9402
- csdepth = chirp Sonar depth below transducer, in meters
- date = month, day and year, usually as a text string, e.g. feb10_1995
- day = local day, e.g. 22
- depth = sample depth, in meters
- event = event or operation number
- flvolt = fluorometer voltage measurements, in volts
- fixtype = code specifies the type of fix, e.g. Magellan, Trimble, etc.
- fspdb = forward speed with respect to the bottom, in knots
- fspdw = forward speed with respect to water, in knots
- gmtday = GMT day, e.g. 22
- gmtmonth = GMT month, e.g. 11
- gmttime = GMT time, using 2400 clock format
- gmtyear = GMT year, e.g. 1995
- gmtyrday = GMT year and day, as 1995326 for the 326th day of
1995, or November 22, 1995
- head = ship's heading, in degrees

- humidity = relative humidity, in percent
- inst = instrument used to collect or process data
- lat = latitude, in decimal degress
- lat2 = alternate (secondary) latitude measurement, in decimal degress

- lon2 = alternate (secondary) longitude measurement, in decimal degress
- metpress = barometric pressure, in millibars
- month = local month, e.g. 11
- mqual = Magellan GPS quality indicator
- mcmg = Magellan GPS course made good, in degrees
- msmg = Magellan GPS speed made good, in knots
- pawa = port apparent wind azimuth, in degrees
- paws = port apparent wind speed, in knots
- press = pressure, in ??
- region = geographical region
- sal = salinity, in psu (practical salinity units)
- sawa = starboard apparent wind azimuth, in degrees
- saws = starboard apparent wind speed, in knots
- si = scientific investigator's name
- sldepth = speed log depth below transducer, in meters (/li>
- sspdb = starboard speed with respect to the bottom, in knots
- sspdw = starboard speed with respect to water, in knots
- ss1temp = sea surface temperature measured one (1) meter below surface,
in degrees C
- ss5temp = sea surface temperature measured five (5) meters below surface,
in degrees C
- station = staiton number
- temp = temperature, in degrees C
- time = local time, using 2400 clock format
- timezone = timezone, with 0 = Grenwich Mean Time (GMT)
- tcmg = Trimble GPS course made good, in degrees
- tsmg = Trimble GPS speed made good, in knots
- tqual = Trimble GPS quality indicator
- wdepth = water depth, in meters
- year = local year, e.g. 1995
- yrday = local year and day, as 1995326 for the 326th day of
