GLOBEC California Current

Mesoscale Sampling Grids for May-June 2002

(J.Barth, OSU, 15 May 2002)

Note that these are listed in order along a track that a ship would take, i.e. east-to-west, then west-to-east, etc.  This makes it easy to plot up as a continuous curve.

Initial Mesoscale Survey

Waypoints are denoted by line# and E (east) or W (west)

Line 1 is the NH LTOP line. Line 4 is the HH LTOP line. Line 7 is the FM LTOP line. Line 10 is the RR LTOP line. Line 12 is the CR LTOP line.

Fine-Resolution Survey (north)

Waypoints are denoted by line# and E (east) or W (west); waypoints on western end of lines 1, 2, 3 & 4 have a suffix F (fine-scale) to distinguish them from the waypoints 1W, 2W, 3W & 4W of the mesoscale survey which are located farther offshore.
