Summary of Biology Department Primary Data

Here is a table that summarizes the data of interest to the Biology Department. This table is based on several e-mail polls, a departmental meeting, personal conversions with a few members of the department, and the author's estimates.

Meaning of priorities:

Priority 1: Primary data that must be archived
Priority 2: Primary data should be archived, but only if it is easy to do; and uses minimal resources (money, people, and space).
Priority 3: Derived data that may be archived at the request of an investigator.

Basic ship's track and ship's log information should always be archived and saved forever.
