Arctic-Atlantic Model Resolution
AA_10km_gridsize.jpg
This is the grid we are now using for hindcasts and for dynamic downscaling of IPCC AR4 results. The downscaling is using the 3 models Overland and Wang (2007) found to be credible for todays climate in both the Barents (IMRÕs main interest) and the Arctic basin as a whole: NASA GISS AOM, NCAR CCSM 3.0 (I think) and Hadley Centre GEM1. Obviously, it would be better to downscale a coupled atmosphere-ice-ocean system, but we had to start somewhere. This should be a good subject for discussion J
