KEY	13 alpha characters;  2 for ship code, 2 for year code, 2 for sequential cruise number, 3 letters for gear type, 3 of haul station number, 1 for net identifier.

CRUISE	6 alpha characters 2 for ship code, 2 for year code, 2 for sequential cruise number.

CONSTA	Consecutive station numbers on a cruise.

STDSTA	Standard station number on a cruise.

GEAR		Gear identifier, (Bongo).

HAUL		Haul station number on a cruise.

NETID	Net identifier.

LAT		Latitude, tow location at start of tow, to nearest whole minute.

LNG		Longitude, tow location at start of tow, to nearest whole minute.

DATTIME	Date and Time of plankton tow start.

SHF	Standard Haul Factor, numerical factor (multiplier) used to standardize catches to be expressed as number caught per 10m2 of sea surface area.  Most haul factors range from 1 to 10.

BTM		Bottom Depth, water column depth, in meters at start of plankton tow.

MTD		Maximum Sampling Depth of the tow.

TAXA		Species name of fish species.

CATCH	Total catch of fish eggs in the net.

STG1	Number of eggs caught in the first developmental stage; from just fertilized until blastopore almost closed.

STG2	Number in development stage 2; from blastopore closed until tip of tail bud almost free from yolk surface.

STG3	Number in development stage 3; from tip of tail bud free until just before hatch.

STG4	Dead at capture, deteriorated.

STG5	Abnormal development, not assignable to a normal stage.

STG6	(Substage of 3) from blastopore closed until tail free, but not yet twisted and flexed.  (Stages 6, 7, 8, & 9 are used only for Gadidae eggs.)

STG7	(Substage of 3) from tail twisted and flexed, until embryo extends <# around egg circumference.

STG8	(Substage of 3) Embryo extends ># and < full circle around egg circumference.

STG9	(Substage of 3) Embryo extends > full circle around egg circumference.
