 | The
Retirement Task Force (RTF) is established to provide employee input to
the process of evaluating the WHOI Retirement Plan. Their charge
is to:
- Understand the WHOI Retirement Plan and how it supports
the strategic goals of the Institution and fits within the financial
contraints of a competitive fringe benefit rate;
- Communicate that understanding to the WHOI community;
- Use
their understanding of the Plan and feedback from the community to
advise the administration on the design of and possible changes to the
Retirement Plan.
The Plan design will ultimately be decided by the Trustees of the Institution.
Open Institution Presentations on RTF Proposal - July 10, 2009
Recently, the trustees charged the Retirement Task Force
(RTF) with developing a defined contribution (DC) retirement plan
to replace our current defined benefit (DB) plan. To meet that
objective, the RTF completed two retreats and have designed a plan,
including a transition benefit structure, which meets the requirements
of the charge.
The RTF invites employees to attend one of the following Institution open meetings on Friday, July 10th when the proposed plan will be presented:
Clark 507 - 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Redfield Auditorium - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
For those that may not be able to attend, the presentation will be
videotaped and available to employees. In addition, we will be
visiting individual or groups of departments during the month of July
as a follow up to the July 10 meeting. Please see below for a
complete schedule:
