DIRECTOR: GLOBEC International Project Office

GLOBAL OCEAN ECOSYSTEM DYNAMICS
Core Project of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP)

A GLOBEC International Project Office is being established at the CCMS Plymouth Marine Laboratory (UK). Accordingly, the GLOBEC Scientific Steering Committee is seeking to appoint a DIRECTOR - a highly motivated and independent individual - to take administrative and scientific responsibility for the office, and to coordinate GLOBEC programme activities. GLOBEC's goal is to advance our understanding of the structure and functioning of the global ocean ecosystem, its major subsystems, and its response to physical forcing, so that a capability can be developed to forecast the responses of the marine ecosystem to global change.

This is a continuation of the search begun in summer, 1998; previous applicants need not re-apply. Short listed candidates will automatically be reconsidered.
