Typing Stateflow Data

You specify the type of Stateflow data in the Type field of the Data properties dialog. You can access this dialog when you create data in Stateflow or when you access the Model Explorer for existing data. See Adding Data for details on creating and defining data in Stateflow. In the Model Explorer, you can also specify it in the middle Contents pane by clicking the cell in the Type column of the highlighted variable row and editing it.

Use the following topics to decide how to type your data in Stateflow:

• Inheriting Input and Output Data Type from Simulink -- Have Stateflow use Simulink signals to type input and output data.
• Typing Data by Using the Type of Other Data -- Specify the data type with the type of another data.
