Copying Orbisnap to Another Location

Orbisnap runs independently of MATLAB and the Virtual Reality Toolbox. This means that you can copy Orbisnap to another location or even another machine. The following is a general procedure on how to copy Orbisnap to another location.

Caution    On UNIX systems, you might need to copy the dynamically linked library files (lib*) from the Orbisnap bin directory to your system directory (such as /usr/lib). If you do so, be sure to make backup copies of any files that have the same name as the Orbisnap library files. You can reinstate these files later as necessary.

1. From a command line or GUI such as Windows Explorer, create a directory into which you want to copy Orbisnap.
2. Copy all the files in the Orbisnap bin and help platform directory. These files are likely located in:
• The Virtual Reality Toolbox orbisnap directory, for example
  <MATLAB root>\toolbox\vr\orbisnap\bin\win32
  and
  <MATLAB root>\toolbox\vr\orbisnap\help
  for the Windows platform
• The directory structure into which you downloaded the Orbisnap zip file from the Web
3. Paste the files into the directory you created in step 1.
