The matlab method is designed to input Matlab binary file(s) and, via
use of a configuration file, extract out the values you want to serve.
This method will always be in development, so will never be considered 
officially released.  However, it is available in this distribution in
the methods directory as matlab_method.pl. It can be used as a method
as well as a script. If you have any questions, contact the Biological
