<en>

Multifunction device: print/copy/scan.

The model G55xi should be identical.

Printing: best is "hpijs" of HP, but many of the drivers
"cdjXXX", "pcl3"/"hpdj", or
"gimp-print"/"stp" will work, too.

The best output one gets with HP's HPIJS 1.3 or newer. If you
cannot update to HPIJS 1.3 for some reason, you can also use HPIJS
1.2.2 with the patches from Matthias Bunte and Richard
Spencer-Smith ("hpijs-rss"). The GIMP-Print driver also
works (Model setting: "pcl-900"), but only up to 600
dpi.

Copying: should just work? Yes, independant of PC.

Scanning works using the HPOJ
low-level driver together with its SANE
backend "hpoj".

For printing via USB you NEED to set up this printer with HPOJ,
even if you do not want to scan. Only using the modified USB
printer.c kernel module from the HPOJ web site does not work with
this model.
