The &applet; applet.

The &applet; applet shows the status of the power subsystem in your laptop. You can configure the applet to show the following components in the panel: Power connection status Battery status Battery charge percentage To add &applet; to a panel, right-click on the panel, then choose Add to PanelUtility&applet;. The layout of the &applet; applet varies depending on the size and type of panel in which the applet resides. The power connection status shows the current status of the laptop power supply: Icon Power Status Shows icon for AC power. The laptop is connected to a power supply. Shows icon for battery recharging. The laptop battery is recharging. Shows icon for battery power. The laptop is using battery power. Shows icon for low power. The laptop power is very low. The battery-status icon is a progress bar within a battery image. The size and color of the progress bar indicate how much charge remains in the battery: Icon Battery Charge Level Shows icon for high battery-charge level. High Shows icon for medium battery-charge level. Medium Shows icon for low battery-charge level. Low Shows icon for very low battery-charge level. Very low For information about how to set the battery color levels, see . For information about how to display the current battery charge as a percentage, see . To suspend the computer, right-click on the applet, then choose Suspend Computer. For information about how to specify which command to run when you choose Suspend Computer, see . To configure the &applet; applet, right-click on the applet, then choose Preferences. The Battery Charge Monitor Preferences dialog contains the following tabbed sections: Battery Color Levels % Yellow Use this spin box to set the battery-charge level at which the progress bar changes from green to yellow. Orange Use this spin box to set the battery-charge level at which the progress bar changes from yellow to orange. Red Use this spin box to set the battery-charge level at which the progress bar changes from orange to red. Preview Move the slider to show how the progress bar changes when the battery-charge level changes. Warnings Warn when battery charge is low Select this option to display an information alert when the battery-charge level falls below the value specified in the Red spin box. Warn when battery is fully re-charged Select this option to display an information alert when the battery is fully recharged. Beep when displaying a warning Select this option to play a beep sound when an information alert is displayed. Suspend Suspend command Use this text box to specify which command to run when you choose Suspend Computer from the applet right-click popup menu. Layout Show battery status Select this option to display the battery status. Show power connection status Select this option to display the power connection status. Show battery charge percentages Select this option to display how much charge the battery currently contains, expressed as a percentage. Progress Bar Direction Moves towards top Select this option to specify that the progress bar decreases from right to left. Moves towards bottom Select this option to specify that the progress bar decreases from left to right.
