      <title>To Add &applet; to a Panel</title>
	 <para>To add <application>&applet;</application> to a panel, right-click on the panel, then choose <menuchoice><guimenu>Add to Panel</guimenu><guisubmenu>Internet</guisubmenu><guimenuitem>Wireless Link Monitor</guimenuitem></menuchoice>.</para> 
        <para>The layout of the <application>&applet;</application> applet varies depending on the size and type of panel in which the applet resides.</para>

	 <title>Usage</title> 
	 <para>When no wireless device has a connection, the &applet; displays the text <literal>NA</literal>, and the applet boxes are transparent.</para>
	 <para>When a wireless device has a connection, the &applet; displays the text <literal>Wi Fi</literal>. The color of the boxes in the panel applet indicates whether a link is established, as follows:</para>
         <variablelist>

             <term>Green</term>
             <listitem>
               <para>The wireless device has established a link.</para>
               <para>The strength of the link is indicated by the number of green boxes: the greater the number of green boxes, the stronger the link.</para>

             <listitem>
               <para>The wireless device has not established a link.</para>
             </listitem>
           </varlistentry>
         </variablelist>
	 <para>You can also display the signal strength as a percentage. For more information on how to configure &applet; to show the signal strength as a percentage, see <xref linkend="wireless-prefs"/>.</para>
	 <para>Each instance of &applet; can monitor only one wireless device. You must start an instance of &applet; for each wireless device that you want to monitor.
