Distinguishing features:
 

FEMALE: Forehead produced into a knobe in dorsal view. Antenna I very long and plumose and extends beyond the end of the caudal furca by about nine segments. Maxilla I with 2 strong teeth, anterior tooth bears a small additional spine. Endopod of maxillule one segmented and carries five setae. Maxilla II without spines. Coxa of leg 5 without seta, basis with a long seta; endopod 1 and 2 carries 1 inner seta each and endopod 3 with 6 setae; exopod segment 1 and 2 bears 1 small outer marginal spine at distal end, segment 3 bears 3 inner setae and 1 small marginal outer spine and two terminal spines, one 4 times longer than the other.

MALE: Forehead somewhat rounded. Leg 5 of left side with coxa bearing one spinous projection and that of the right with a smaller projection; basis bears one long seta on both sides; setations of the endopod segments same on both sides; endopod 1 with out seta, 2 and 3 bearing 1 and 6 setae respectively; exopod segment 1 and 2 bear 1 outer marginal spine each, exopod segment 3 of the left side with 1 small middle spine and 2 terminal spines of almost the same size; exopod 3 of right side with 3 spines, 1 proximal and 2 terminal ,one 3 times longer than the other.
