"Natural" Variability and Anthropogenic Climate Change
U.S. GLOBEC intends to sort out natural variability in the physical and
biological ecosystem from that caused by anthropogenic climate change.
U.S. GLOBEC selects study sites because:
- Long-term mean climatology of the region-for both physical and biological variables-is known.
- Sites have been studied extensively before-to permit comparison.
