Two Satlantic 504I radiometers were installed as part of Buoy 07949. These radiometers measured irradiance at four wavelengths, 412 nm, 442 nm, 491 nm, and 555 nm. One radiometer was installed above the ice measuring the incident irradiance, while the other was placed below the ice measuring the transmitted irradiance.

There was the expected seasonal steady increase in the solar incident irradiance from August through November. Small fluctuations resulted from changes in sky conditions (sunny to cloudy). Interestingly, there was a sharp drop of two orders of magnitude in the transmittance starting in late-September. This drop was due to an increase in the snow depth.
