GLOBEC Northeast Pacific Program Mapping of Physical and Biological Fields in the Northern California Current July 31 - August 19, 2002

Schedule

This schedule will be updated as needed during the cruise.
 

31 Jul 1600      Sail from Newport; inspect inshore end of line 1 for crab
                 pots; deploy SeaSoar and HTI at 1E, survey north-south 
                 "Mesoscale Survey" grid (1E to 12E); deploy surface drifters 
                 at NH-10, NH-15 and NH-25.

 6 Aug           Recover SeaSoar and HTI at 12E; transit to NH line.

 7 Aug           Deploy bio-optical drifter cluster in upwelling jet; profile 
                 near drifter cluster using Slowdrop, HTI and TSRB.

 8 Aug           Deploy SeaSoar at 1E, survey north-south "Fine-Resolution 
                 North Survey" grid (1E to 4AE).

 9 Aug           Recover SeaSoar and HTI at 4AE; relocate bio-optical drifter 
                 cluster.

10 Aug           Profile near drifter cluster with Slowdrop, HTI and TSRB;
                 offload HTI in Newport so it can be transferred to New Horizon;
                 transit to line 7.

11 Aug           Deploy bio-optical drifter cluster in upwelling jet; profile 
                 near drifter cluster using Slowdrop, HTI and TSRB.

12 Aug           Deploy SeaSoar and HTI at 7E, survey north-south 
                 "Fine-Resolution South Survey" grid (7E to 11AW).

13 Aug           Recover SeaSoar and HTI at 11AW; relocate bio-optical drifter
                 cluster.

14 Aug           Profile near drifter cluster with Slowdrop, HTI and TSRB;
                 transit to 12E.

15 Aug           Deploy SeaSoar and HTI at 12E, survey south-north "Mesoscale
                 Survey" grid for the second time.

18 Aug           Recover SeaSoar at 1E.

19 Aug 0800      Dockside in Newport.
