August 5, 2002

SeaSOAR continues in mild weather on the East-bound line toward Gold Beach.

August 6, 2002

SeaSOAR will complete the last line of the mesoscale survey.  This morning an XBT (expendable bathythermograph) was deployed.

August 7, 2002

The mesoscale survey is complete.  The SeaSOAR and HTI are now being used to locate the center of a chlorophyll-rich eddy near line 9.

August 8, 2002

 The Revelle has finished the investigation of the eddy feature and is continuing north again to the Newport line area.

August 9, 2002

The SeaSOAR and HTI were back in the water at midnight and have started on the fine scale survey in the north.

August 10, 2002

Rough conditions this morning on the Revelle greet the scientists who will continue the fine scale survey in the north today. 

August 11, 2002

During the early morning hours the ship has performed CTD/rosette casts at five different stations in close proximity to each other.

August 12, 2002

Another clear day for the Revelle which is continuing the fine scale survey.  Later today the remaining drifters will be deployed.
