Marine Technician

Q. How often do you go on cruises and for how long?

A. This was my first summer working at sea. I am now on the third cruise of a scheduled three GLOBEC cruise 'tour of duty' with the OSU Marine Tech crew. My main duties have been to assist with the SeaSoar work during two 3 week cruises - but there has always been a great deal more to help the crew out with while I've been here. Where I go and what I do after this trip currently falls within the realm of the unknown. One way or another I'm sure that the future will somehow involve many a cruise on many a ship... from now until the end of time :-) Merely a small sacrifice, all in the name of oceanographic research.?.?
