Chuck Alexander has been working as a bird observer on oceanography cruises for 12 years.  One aspect of the cruise he looks forward to is getting to know the people on the ship and learning about how his work relates to the work of the scientists.  Chuck does not consider himself a scientist, but enjoys working with them and asking questions related to their work.  Chuck enjoys surfing in northern California when he is not on a cruise.
